I've got an older EverFocus DVR (model ECOR 4). It's from around 2008 and apparently isn't compatible with their newer programs, apps, and such. The manual says to access the DVR via IE. On my laptop running Windows 10, I am able to successfully view the DVR via IE 11 in compatibility view.
EVERFOCUS ELECTRONICS CORPORATION MONITOR MAIN MONITOR: This connector is used for the Main monitor display, a number of different display modes may be selected for viewing. This output must be used to display the menu settings.
The EF Sidekick application, which works with EverFocus IP Sidekick, is designed to eliminate all the troubles you may go through when installing.

Even the IT pros need help from time to time.. Here's the situation:
I've got an older EverFocus DVR (model ECOR 4). It's from around 2008 and apparently isn't compatible with their newer programs, apps, and such. The manual says to access the DVR via IE. On my laptop running Windows 10, I am able to successfully view the DVR via IE 11 in compatibility view. On two different Windows 7 PCs, I try the same settings (IE 11 in compatibility view), but the ActiveX software from the DVR doesn't work right. It lets me view the menus and such, but does not play the video (just shows the remnants of the previous screen, does not show any camera boxes). On the Windows 7 PCs, I've tried setting all the ActiveX security controls as the manual suggested, but get the same result. On one of the Windows 7 PCs, I downgraded to IE 8, but it still did the same thing.
I've also tried some Chrome add-ons on the Windows 7 PCs (IE Tab, IE on Chrome, ActiveX on Chrome) but none worked either.
Does anyone know what else I can troubleshoot? Does anyone know if there is any type of standalone DVR/CCTV viewer software (like CMS) that will work for this DVR? I tried using the CMS software that came with a Vonnic DVR, but it cannot see my EverFocus DVR.
Any assistance on this is much appreciated. EverFocus seems to have no support for this DVR anymore and I would prefer to get this working rather than having to buy another DVR.
